ADDING VIRTUAL MEMORY ON MS WINDOWS 7

It has been so long time since the last time I wrote a post. This time I am interested to share you a little trick.

Is your computer that runs in Windows 7 slow? Or, did you get some notification stated that your virtual memory was low? If the answer is "yes", it means that you need to buy new or additional memory (RAM). But, how if you don't have sufficient money to afford one, or what if you don't intend to do so in any reason?

Here we are going to do some trick to solve it. All we have to do is to add its virtual memory. Theoretically, adding virtual memory is to enlarge RAM capacity by using the free space of hard disk drive. Since the speed of HDD would never equalize the speed of DDR/RAM (because HDD reaches its clock through mechanical speed [RPM], meanwhile DDR gets it through electrical speed [Hz]), it's impossible to match 4 GB of RAM/DDR with 4 GB of RAM + additional HDD virtual memory. But, it's still worthy than nothing to do.

Okay! Let's go straight to things we wanna do!
1. Click "Windows" button on the lower left corner! Then click "Control Panel"!
2. After it, the window like below will be shown. Then click "System and Security" section!
3. Then click "View amount of RAM and processor speed"!
4. Then click "Advance system settings" on the left panel!
5. Click "Advance" tab -> Click "Settings" on "Performance" section!
6. Click "Advance" tab -> click "Change" on "Virtual memory" section!
7. Uncheck "Automatically manage paging file size for all drives" box -> select "C:" drive -> click "Custom size" radio button! In the "Initial size" box you can type the allocated bytes that you want. (Here I gave 2048 MB - higher than recommended.) In the "Maximum size" box you can double the amount. (Here I doubled it to 4096.) Then click "Set" -> "OK"!
8. After all, the "Performance Options" window will show that now our virtual memory is 2048 MB - which is taken from HDD.
This has worked very well in my operating system: Microsoft Windows 7 Starter Edition Service Pack 1. I hope it will work in your OS too.

Solving Chrome Error 3 (Making Your Chrome Able to Update)

Dear, Chrome Users! You might face the same problem I faced. It's about Chrome error 3, where

"Update server not available (error: 3)" would be shown - while you tried to access the update.

After facing so many trials and errors, here is the solution. As an information, my operating system is MS Windows 7. You will perhaps find different situation while using another OS, but it would take similarity in the operation. You just need to do a little bit adaptation for that.
1. Open your "registry editor" by pressing "Windows button" and typing "regedit" (without double quotation marks)!
2. Click Ctrl+F to open "Find box"! Then type "GoogleUpdate.exe" (without double quotation marks)!
3. You might wait for several time. After that, right-click the "path" and choose "Modify"!
4. Copy all "value data" from the box!
5. Then, find these path: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{2F0E2680-9FF5-43C0-B76E-114A56E93598}
6. After that, you should make a new key under that directory. From the "edit" menu, just click new-menu! Then, you should rename the new key with LocalServer32. So, it's going to be HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{2F0E2680-9FF5-43C0-B76E-114A56E93598}\LocalServer32
7. Next, you should "modify" the string value inside the key. Just right-click the "default" and modify it! Paste the "value data" you already copied, then click OK!
8. At last, you just need to run your Chrome, and click "About Google Chrome", then find out that it's done and updated already - like shown by the picture below.

Connecting Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, and YouTube

It's been so long since the last time I posted "tricks" labelled post. This time we're going to find out how to connect Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, and YouTube each other. You know that the four social networks are so essential in our daily lives. Some of us use more than one of them. Two, three, or sometimes four. We do know it. But, we often feel lazy to open them all in one same time. You can imagine how our browser could be, while they all are opened. It's gonna be messed up, isn't? Hard to gaze at.

Someday you might think to post a status or comment or tweet, but it (the status) is going to be updated and shown in other accounts. For example: you tweet in Tweeter, then you want your tweet to be shown in your Facebook account. Here, we're try each possibility to do so for those four social networks.

1. Connecting Twitter and Facebook
• Log in to your Facebook account!
• Do searching with query "twitter"! After doing this you'll find third party application by Twitter.
• Then let this app to be used in your Facebook account by clicking "allow"!
• The rest is gonna be so easy, just by following further instruction needed.
• Next, you need to check the box of "Facebook Profile" to allow Twitter to post update to your wall.
• The last, you will see the next window

You can see that there's a statement where "Your Facebook & Twitter accounts are connected!" After all, your tweets will be updated also in your Facebook, but it might not be the same vise versa. It means that your Facebook status will not be updated in your Twitter timeline. It's a single direction telecommunication.

2. Connecting MySpace with Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube

These are gonna be easier because we just find all links to connect the four accounts in one page only.
• Sign in to your MySpace account first!
• Point to "My Stuff" drop down menu to find "Account Settings"! Then click it!
• In settings you will find "3rd Party Syncing". It's a sub-menu of "Stream Settings" in bottom left corner. Then click it!
• In this 3rd Party Syncing, you'll be offered to link your MySpace to any other four accounts: Twitter, Facebook, Yahoo, and YouTube.
• You just need to click and follow the Sync button to make links with other accounts.
• By clicking, the new tab/page will be opened for you, which will bring and direct you to each account you mean. Of course, you need to log in or sign in first. Each operation is so simple and easy to trace.
• After all, you'll see your sync status that it's stating whether your accounts synced already.
• Between MySpace and Twitter, your sync is bidirectional. It means that your tweet will be shown in your MySpace status, and vice versa: your status will also be able to show in your tweet. Between MySpace and Facebook, you only have single-direction communication, where your MySpace status will be shown in your Facebook status, but not vice versa. It's same with sync between Twitter and Facebook. Between MySpace and YouTube, you also find single-direction communication, where your video upload and comment will be shown or updated in your MySpace status - not vice versa.
• The character of communication direction, can be seen on the window below.

From things we've done, we will have known that Facebook is the most flexible site among the four. It can accept and show all tweets and statuses from Twitter and also MySpace. The status update from Facebook cannot be shown in Twitter and MySpace. It's probably caused by unsupported apps yet - provided by the last two sites. I've also found no way to sync Facebook and YouTube.

That's all for this time. Happy trying!

KEY IN RELATIONSHIP

If you ask about what is the key to hold and remain a relationship, you will find lots of answers and reasons. But, if you were ever involved in such situation - where you had to keep your relationship on the true line - you might believe that "trust " was the most important key.

In business, we can make an example that is quite simple. If want to buy manggoes from a dept. store, you have to know the quality of those fruits you are staring. The problem is that you cannot and may not see or check it through the fruits. It's impossible whether you want to husk them except you buy them.

So, you have to trust that the manggoes are good, relied on your eyes only - and maybe experiences you've got about manggoes. The condition should be two only. If you trust, you'll buy the manggoes. Vice verse, if you don't trust, you won't buy them.

It's that simple in a relationship - whatever it's formed: within your closest friend, spouse, even your customers or partners. By knowing and being conscious about it, you've got only one thing to do.
It's to keep your trust and your accompanies' trust.
The next question is how. You might have found these made:

1. Never lie though you're scare that you will loose advantages or opportunities! Always remember that your biggest advantage or opportunity is other's trust!
2. Never underestimate your accompany's trust it's given to you! Somebody often does such thing without realizing that without giving the equal treatment we'll never get a harmony in a good relationship or teamwork.
3. Never loose your quality! If you've already had a quality - it's loved by your accompanies - please never let it down! Even, you need to make it standarized.
The three things are simple to remember, but you need a little bit hard effort and confidence to do so. Happy trying, and good luck!

If you are a blogger - esp. who use blogger.com - perhaps you sometimes asked, "How can I hide navbar on the top of my page?"

3. Then click "edit HTML"!
4. Turn your "Find" menu by press Ctrl+F!
5. Then, type ]]>
6. After finding ]]>, next you just need to type #navbar{display:none;} before it. So, it will be #navbar{display:none;}]]>
7. At last you just need to click "Save"
Happy trying!

THE IMPORTANCE OF META TAG

After using meta tag for so long (almost since the first time blogging), I changed my theme. The changing eliminated the old meta tag written, because of the default script of the new theme. But, I didn't really care about it, because I could still find my blog in the first order in Google search. And, it'd been for several weeks.

After sometimes, I begun to change my blog's theme once more. It's a pretty-looked new theme delivered by Blogger.com. After all, I checked my blog again in Google by typing its name. But, I was surprised that I didn't find my blog on the first of list anymore.

Eventhough I could still find it on the first page of search result, I worried that someday it would be disappeared. So, I decided to write meta tag again in my blog's script.

What is meta tag?

Meta tag is a tag written inside the head of your site's or blog's HTML script. It's often used by search engines - like Google - to enlist your site or blog. So, when a user type any keyword or query, the search engine will appear the list of sites related to that meta tag. Normally, a site will be recognized by a search engine using its heading also. But, a site within meta tag should be a better recognizable.

Writing meta tag is quite simple. Below is an example of meta tag:
or
Like you can see above, a meta tag uses name attribute and description attribute. Each attribute uses double quotes. But, it doesn't matter whether we want to use single quote, like:
In several cases, you might use a slice after attributes, like:
But, it wouldn't take any different effect - for the search engine.

Like mentioned before, we use meta tag inside head of HTML script. So, here is the example of the application:

Saya pilih mode dial-up.

Axis menyediakan berbagai paket internet. Salah satunya adalah - kalau saya tidak salah - paket bulanan sebesar 5 GB dengan harga Rp. 40.000,-. Untuk mengaksesnya, panggil saja *123# atau *777#!

CHEATING SOLITAIRE

Sometimes, in our spare or boring times, we'd like to play a small game in the computer. In MS Windows we're familiar with Solitaire: one of card games.

But, it's pretty heavy to win this game - if we stay in draw three & Vegas scoring mode. In a cumulative play, it's often happened that a player has minus scoring (highlighted by red). The curiosity to win usually drew someone to feel stressed and spending his/her time.

How can we cheat it - so we'll easily win?

It's quite simple, Mate. Just hold down the Ctrl+Alt+Shift keys! It will be like a draw one play - though actually you're playing in the draw three game. The result: you'll always be the winner easily, and Solitaire won't make you depressed again. He, he!

Happy to play, Mate!
